The Worm Wrangler Story

Worm Wrangler was born from a decade-long hobby and an academic background in soil science. My love for vermicomposting—using earthworms to enrich soil—led me to start a venture that blends education, community engagement, and sustainable agriculture.
In just three years, this small business has expanded its product line to include three additional worm species and sustainable soil amendments. Our commitment to growth and innovation led to a 14% revenue increase in 2024, a clear indication of how much our community values this mission.
Impacting Our Community

At Worm Wrangler, I believe that education is key. I’ve reached over 1,000 school-aged children through hands-on workshops, teaching the next generation about soil health and sustainability. The Worm Wrangler virtual field trip with AgAcape touched over 1,121 classrooms across Canada, bringing vermicomposting into homes and schools during International Compost Awareness Week in May 2024.
Beyond education, Worm Wrangler has active memberships with several prestigious organizations such as the Canadian Compost Council and the Circular Innovation Council of Canada. These memberships strengthen the connection with like-minded peers and help us stay at the forefront of sustainable soil practices.
Entrepreneurial Excellence

Winning the Solopreneur of the Year award validates my approach toward building a sustainable future. It acknowledges the leadership, vision, and the innovative strategies that have shaped Worm Wrangler. Our feature on CTV’s “Made Right Here” further highlights the strides we’ve made in promoting environmentally responsible practices. Watch the segment here.
Investing in the Future
Looking ahead, I aim to expand Worm Wrangler’s educational offerings, fostering connections with schools and organizations passionate about food security and environmental sustainability through programs like Seeds of Diversity’s Youth in Food Systems, AgScape, and direct classroom visits.
